Passage of the proposed bills would continue the 18-year history of the use of this revenue
source to support King County's arts and heritage community. King County’s Lodging Tax
for culture is the primary revenue source that funds all of 4Culture’s funding programs—from
operating support to projects by individual artists to our region’s many arts facilities and
history museums. Both bills include provisions that would continue Lodging Tax funding
between 2013 and 2020, as well. Under current law, Lodging Taxes for cultural programs in

Attendance makes a difference!
Thanks to the nearly 125 arts and heritage advocates who attended public hearings in Olympia on January 30th, January 31st and February 12th in favor of SB 6638 and HB 3054 - these bills are moving forward.
I really have never had a lot of faith in governmental process before, but yesterday was an exercise in true democracy, and the fact that all those theater people showed up was proof to me that I'm on the right track.Thank you so much for leading the charge and showing me that my presence, voice, name on a piece of paper, whatever, can and does matter.
